We are working with Kāpiti Primary School to enhance recreational and outdoor learning opportunities in the civic precinct and incorporate the school into the town centre.
This may involve landscaping to soften the boundary between Kāpiti Primary School and Iver Trask Place, the creation of a learning playground and constructing a shared path outside the civic buildings that will make it easier for people to get from Kāpiti Road through the civic precinct to the town centre.
The improvements along Iver Trask Place and the school boundary will provide a great environment for the whole community to use. Areas inside the school boundary will be open to the community outside of school hours.
Our plans to transform the civic precinct are not fully formed and there will be opportunities for the community to influence design decisions.
The timeframe for work on the civic precinct is yet to be determined but is likely to be in 2018.
