Community facilities strategy

The community facilities strategy provides a framework to guide our decisions on investing in community facilities over the next 20 years. Complete the online questionnaire to help shape the draft strategy.

We’re developing a Community Facilities Strategy which will provide a guiding framework for the Council’s decisions around investment and involvement in the district’s facilities over the next 20 years. It will provide direction on the development of new facilities, major upgrades of existing facilities and optimisation of facilities.

This is one of the key activities in our FutureKāpiti Long term plan 2015-35

We need the community’s help to ensure the right facilities are maintained and developed, in the right places and at the right time.

Opportunities for feedback

Workshops with over 100 user groups have been completed and from the end of November 2016 to 9 January 2017 we sought input from the wider community to help shape the draft strategy.

The community will have another opportunity for feedback – this time to provide formal submissions on the draft Community Facilities Strategy. At this stage we expect this to take place in March 2017.

We’re looking forward to working with you to help shape Council’s community facilities now and into the
