Business and Economy

Kāpiti Coast District Council plays a key leadership role in supporting the growth of our local economy. We do this as a planning authority, provider of infrastructure, landowner, and by working in partnership with the Economic Development Kotahitanga Board (EDKB), businesses, and other local and regional stakeholders.

Council's role is to help create the conditions for success—ensuring Kāpiti is a great place to do business, invest, work and visit. We are focused on growing key sectors like food and beverage, tech, tourism, and the creative industries while supporting local employment, training pathways, and an inclusive and sustainable business environment.
