Mayors Taskforce for Jobs – programme currently closed
The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) is a nationwide network of New Zealand Mayors, working together to support young rangatahi aged 16–24 into employment, education, training, and other positive activities in our communities.
Our Council has previously delivered this programme with funding from the MTFJ Community Employment Programme — a partnership between Local Government New Zealand and the Ministry of Social Development. This funding supported courses and events aimed at helping local rangatahi who face barriers to employment build their skills and confidence.
Past opportunities

These courses were offered to Kāpiti rangatahi aged 16–24 not in education or employment, helping them prepare for and sit their learner licence — a key step toward accessing work.
