Mayors Taskforce for Jobs
The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) programme is a nationwide network of New Zealand Mayors, working together to get young rangatahi aged 16–24 into employment, education, training and other positive activities in our communities.
We receive funding from the MTFJ Community Employment programme, a nationwide partnership between Local Government and the Ministry of Social Development to place young people not in education, employment or training, into work. This funding helps us deliver courses and events to those in our community who might be facing some additional barriers in their lives and need some support building their skills.
Free learner driver's licence courses
Around 85 percent of entry-level jobs require a driver's licence, so not having one can be a real barrier for young people looking to get into the workforce.
Our Free learner driver's licence is for Kāpiti rangatahi aged 16-24 who are not in education or employment and needing to learn to drive.
