Holiday hours
Some of our hours are a little different over Public Holidays for our Council and community services. The following times apply to all New Zealand Public Holidays unless otherwise stated.
Service centres
- Closed on public holidays and/or observed public holidays.
- Our afterhours call centre will still be taking phone calls.
Building consents, resource consents and LIMs
For building consents, resource consents, and LIMs, the statutory clock stops for Christmas from 5pm Thursday 19 December, and starts again at 9am Monday 13 January. To have your application processed before Christmas, you will need to have submitted it to Council before 5pm Thursday 21 November.
Libraries
Our libraries will have adjusted hours and closures on the following public holidays:

- close at 3pm Tuesday 24 December
- reopen 9am Friday 3 January 2025.
