Te tūranga: The Opportunity
As the Organisational Development (OD) Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Manager of Organisational Development to deliver a range of Organisational Development initiatives that align with the council P&C strategy. You will contribute to building a thriving workplace culture and developing the capability needed for the future.
In this role, you will provide high-quality OD advice and expertise, proactively supporting the effective implementation of business group initiatives. You will work collaboratively with the Human Resources (HR) Service Delivery, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, and Payroll, Reporting, and Insights teams to achieve the outcomes of the People and Culture (P&C) Group.
Kō tō mahi: What you will do
OD Advisory
- Support the Manager OD and HR Business Partner in developing organisational development strategies and initiatives for business groups.
- Assist in delivering P&C initiatives that enhance leadership, capability, culture, and performance.
- Contribute to the implementation of people-related frameworks (including Te Ao Māori) and tools across the business.
- Partner with teams to assess needs, conduct research, and recommend tailored L&D initiatives.
- Provide input into the review and development of policies, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure high standards in the employee experience through OD and L&D engagement.
- Support the development of an annual OD and L&D calendar for stakeholder awareness.
- Collaborate with HR professionals across the P&C Group to deliver workplan outcomes.
- Assist the OD Manager in developing ROI and feedback mechanisms for stakeholder satisfaction.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of OD and L&D programmes.
- Use change management techniques to embed programmes and initiatives.
- Assist with the management of learning events, including facilitation, logistics, and system updates
Talent Management and Succession Planning
- Support the delivery of the Council’s Talent and Succession Management framework.
- Contribute to the Council’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging strategy.
- Assist in developing career pathways and core competencies for progression within the Council.
Na tōu rourou: What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources/Organisational Development, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in HR and OD/L&D activities.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary HR and OD/L&D principles.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Communication & Technical Skills:
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex HR issues to various stakeholders. Strong competency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Cultural Competency:
A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and an awareness of Māori perspectives and issues relevant to Māori communities.
Knowledge of tikanga Māori and the ability to work effectively with Māori colleagues and communities.
