Kāpiti residents’ opinion phone survey underway

Kāpiti Coast District Council’s quarterly check-in with the community to gather data for the annual Residents’ Opinion Survey is underway again. Council chief executive Darren Edwards says if you get a phone call, please take the time to give your views. 

Mr Edwards said the phone survey helps Council assess its performance and identify where it needs to make improvements. 

“It’s getting trickier as people are quite rightly suspicious of scams from unsolicited phone calls, so we are looking at whether there are better ways of doing this. In the meantime, we hope people will find time to give their feedback.” 

The survey asks your views on topics such as: 

  • satisfaction with Council services and facilities
  • interactions with Council
  • perceptions of Council, and
  • general well-being.

“The researchers will identify themselves by name and let you know they’re calling from research company Research First, calling on behalf of the Kāpiti Coast District Council,” Mr Edwards said.  

Council staff and non-Kāpiti residents are screened for and excluded. 

“Importantly, the researchers will NEVER ask you for bank details, email address, or PIN numbers. They will ask you general demographic information like age, gender, ethnicity, and which part of Kāpiti you live in but nothing more detailed than that.” 

Mr Edwards says calls will only be made between 4–8.30pm Monday to Friday, and 12 midday to 6pm Saturday and Sunday from 28 November to 18 December. You can ask for a callback at a time that suits you better. The survey takes about 20 minutes.
