Parking change at Te Newhanga Community Centre
Following the relocation of the Kāpiti Foodbank to the Te Newhanga Community Centre in Paraparaumu changes have been made to parking restrictions to allow for shorter stays.
The Paraparaumu-Raumati Community Board has agreed that two business permit spaces outside the Foodbank will convert from four-hour time limits to 10 minutes.
“This will allow for those visiting the foodbank to drop off or collect food to park easily right outside,” Access and Transport manager Glen O’Connor says.
Paraparaumu-Raumati Community Board Kathy Spiers says the change will have minimum impact and will allow the Foodbank to operate effectively.
“This change is appropriate given the changing use of the centre, and leaves plenty of longer term parking available for other users,” Ms Spiers says.
The new parking limits will be effective once new signage has been installed.
