Applications open for Waikanae Capital Improvement Grant
Waikanae community organisations can now apply for funding support through the Waikanae Community Board’s annual Capital Improvement Fund Grant. Applications are open for this year’s grants with approximately $23,000 available.
Grants are available for capital projects that will benefit a significant portion of the Waikanae community. That includes projects like upgrades to property and buildings, or the purchase of equipment.
Previous grant recipients include the Reikorangi Residents Association to support the construction of a public toilet at Mangaone South carpark, the Lions Club of Waikanae to help with the purchase of an AED defibrillator, and a contribution towards a new roof for the Waikanae Playcentre.
“We are delighted to open this year’s call for applications for capital improvement projects, especially in the wake of COVID-19 with many traditional funding and sponsorship opportunities for community organisations either drying up or becoming oversubscribed,” says Waikanae Community Board Chair James Westbury.
“We are fortunate to have so many active community groups working hard to make Waikanae a great place to live and we know that these grants can be a real boost, not only in support of their great work but also for our wider community.”
Applications close 5pm on Friday, 12 March 2021 and will be considered by the Waikanae Community Board at their meeting on Tuesday, 23 March 2021.
The Waikanae Community Board covers the area from Waikanae Downs in the south through to Peka Peka in the north.
