Council takes firm stance on COVID-19 Vaccination
Kāpiti Coast District Council has adopted a policy that mandates the requirement for all staff, and the majority of people who do work on the Council’s behalf, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Acting Chief Executive Sean Mallon says people’s COVID-19 vaccination status has a major bearing on the Council’s ability to safely deliver crucial services to the Kāpiti Coast community and visitors to our district.
“We take our health and safety obligations to our people and our community seriously which is why we’ve taken the decision to require our staff, and a range of other people who do work for us, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
“This position is not unique to Kāpiti and we are aware of a number of councils, and public and private sector organisations, adopting a similar approach.
"We believe this is the best way we can help keep our people safe and healthy while they at work and minimise the risk of our staff contracting or spreading COVID-19 to vulnerable members of our community.”
