Delay is disappointing

The decision to delay the information Expos on the Expressway options is disappointing, says Kapiti Mayor Jenny Rowan.
 
“A series of expos were planned to begin on November 7.  I understand these have now been postponed.  I am disappointed, as our residents have been waiting some time now for details on the Expressway.”

Ms Rowan said Council had been very happy with the Alliance process. “Everyone has been working very hard to meet the November 7 deadline, and the process has been productive.
 
“The fact that the announcement of details has now been set back, only extends the period of uncertainty for residents. I only hope that the postponement means that work continues in this period to provide further clarity around key options and does start to bring the certainty we want and need.”

Ms Rowan said she was concerned the six week consultation process would now run into the Christmas/New Year break.
