Mayor confirms tender has been re-advertised
Kāpiti Mayor Jenny Rowan has confirmed that the tender for installing water meters for the southern part of the Kāpiti district has been re-advertised.
“Tenders were sought for the supply of meters, and their installation in the north and in the south after staff met with local contractors to gain their feedback on the best way forward.
“We made it very clear at the time that the acceptance of any tender would depend entirely on Council making a final decision on the installation of water meters.
“Suitable tenders have since been received for the supply of meters and for the installation work in the northern half of the district. However, this was not the case for installation work in the southern section of the district. As a result, we have re-advertised the tender.
“Those businesses involved in these kinds of tender processes will appreciate that we are not in a position to comment on any dollar figures at this stage.
“I can say, however, that we are confident that all the installation work can be undertaken for the amount we have budgeted for. Our estimates went through a rigorous third party audit before we went to the market with our tender bids.
