Coastlands Aquatic Centre closing for four days

Coastlands Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public for four days from Tuesday 18 November while changing room floors are resurfaced to make them less slippery.   

The floor tiles will be covered with the same product that is on the surface surrounding the centre’s swimming pools, providing a good non-slip surface.  The existing tiles will remain beneath.  

Coastlands Aquatic Centre will re-open on Saturday 22 November.

“The existing floor tiles meet the building code for wet areas but there have been some issues with slipperiness,” says Aquatic Facilities Manager Alison Law.

“We apologise for any inconvenience, but it’s important the job is done before the peak summer period and we have to work with contractor availability.”

Learn to Swim classes on Tuesday through Friday will be cancelled and a refund given for one lesson.
