Water invoicing to start soon (1)

Ratepayers in Ōtaki and most of Waikanae will be sent their first water invoices at the end of September.

The district has been divided into three areas for water meter reading and invoicing.  Initial invoices will not cover a full three-month period while we establish quarterly reading/invoicing cycles for each area. Subsequent invoices will cover three-monthly periods.

A slight delay in posting invoices for Ōtaki and most of Waikanae was due to extra processing checks completed.

"As this is a new scheme affecting thousands of ratepayers, we want to make absolutely sure we have our processes right and some extra checks have been necessary," says Council’s Group Manager Corporate Services Wayne Maxwell.

 Posting of invoices for the two other areas of the district remains on schedule, as follows: 

• the rest of Waikanae and Paraparaumu – early October (invoices will cover slightly less than a full quarter) 
• Raumati and Paekākāriki – early November (invoices will cover slightly more than a full quarter).

The same payment options for general rates are available for water rates. These are listed on the back of your water invoice (remember to include your water account number in any payment details).

General rates invoices are not posted at the same time as water invoices i.e. you will receive them separately.
