Youth Fest welcomes Drax to the Coast!
Kāpiti Coast young people are in for a treat at this year’s Youth Fest with Wellington band Drax Project featuring at the annual event.
Youth Fest, now in its fifth year, is a free event organised by Kāpiti Coast Youth Council and will take place on Saturday 14 March at Maclean Park, Paraparaumu Beach from 11am to 3pm.
The line-up of live music includes Drax Project, a four-piece band from Wellington who recently released their debut EP to a sold-out show and have performed at a range of festivals around the country.
Drax singer/saxophonist Shaan Singh, who is originally from Paraparaumu and was a member of the Youth Council, says this is the band’s first performance in Kāpiti and that he is looking forward to performing in front of a home crowd.
“I love Kāpiti. I did plenty of fundraising for my music when I was younger and the community completely supported me, so it’s great to come home and give something back.”
As well as live music, there will be plenty of activities for young people to participate in including giant inflatables and a skate competition, as well as a range of food stalls.
