Council approves Private Plan Change 84

On 19 October, Kāpiti Coast District Council approved Private Plan Change 84 with amendments to the Operative District Plan which was requested by Kāpiti Coast Airport Holdings Limited. The airport holdings company requested the private plan change to alter the activity status of certain uses within the Airport Zones.

Prior to this decision, there were four prohibited activities within the airport zone. The Council has adopted the recommendations of the independent hearing panel to remove two prohibited activities and provide for these activities to be considered by Council on a case by case basis through the resource consent process.

The requestor and any submitters can appeal the decision to the Environment Court. Council’s decision will be publicly notified next week.
