Kāpiti foodies to revel in Visa Wellington on a plate on home soil
Kāpiti foodies are in for a treat this month with Visa Wellington On a Plate featuring local eateries, produce and events.
Mayor K Gurunathan says it's great to have Kāpiti involved in the festival event.
"We are very fortunate to have a diverse array of quality eateries and food producers right here in Kāpiti. Events such as the Wellington Food Truck Rally and Caught, Cut & Cooked help promote Kāpiti as a foodie destination and offer enormous visitor attraction potential for our district.
The Council is a sponsor of the 2017 Visa Wellington On a Plate festival and is supporting the delivery of this year’s Wellington Food Truck Rally at the Kāpiti PAK’nSAVE carpark in Paraparaumu on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 August.
Council’s support for the Wellington Food Truck Rally includes paying for the generators to supply the trucks, promotion and securing acoustic entertainment from Zeal.
Strategy and Planning Group Manager Sarah Stevenson says last year’s Wellington Food Truck Rally was a roaring success and really brought the Paraparaumu town centre alive on what is normally a quiet mid-week evening.
“The 2016 Food Truck Rally received a great reception from Kāpiti residents and it’s great to see the Food Trucks coming back to the Paraparaumu town centre for two nights this year.”
