Proposed Kāpiti Coast Easter Sunday trading consultation closed
Published 16 Oct 2017
Between 4 September and 8 October, 238 Kāpiti residents and organisations had their say on whether Easter Sunday shop trading should be allowed on the Kāpiti Coast.
As well as the 238 submissions, Council also received a petition from First Union with 326 signatures on it.
The Council will hear from submitters in person on 9 November, with consideration of whether to adopt the policy to follow on 23 November.
If the Council adopts the policy, Easter Sunday shop trading could come into effect by 2018. If a policy is not adopted, only the few shops currently permitted by law to open will be permitted to open.
