Raumati Road roundabout works next Tuesday
Council contractors will be working on the Raumati Road roundabout next Tuesday to reseal over the joins where the strips of asphalt meet on the roundabout surface and inspect the pavement as part of the practical completion process.
Infrastructure Services Group Manager Sean Mallon says stop/go traffic management will in place on each arm of the roundabout between 9am and 3pm on Tuesday to allow contractors to carry out resealing and the inspection safely.
“We know this isn’t ideal given our pro-longed works down Raumati Road but it’s important that we carry out the resealing now to maintain the quality of the surface people drive on,” he said. “If it’s wet these works will move to the next fine day.”
"If the pavement inspection requires the contractor to do any further works we'll let people know in good time.
“The improvements we’ve made to Raumati Road will serve the community well in the future and we would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and for bearing with us while carry out these finishing touches on Raumati Road," said Mr Mallon.
