Stormwater survey nearly 50 percent complete
Infrastructure Services Group Manger Sean Mallon says the survey will help inform future project planning around flood management.
“Last winter was one of the wettest on record and many Kāpiti residents have struggled to cope with the unprecedented amount of rain,” said Mr Mallon. “The survey will help us to better understand how and where each property discharges stormwater and what improvement works and additional flood protection measures we may need to put in place in the future.”
The Council has completed surveys in 14 catchment areas since the stormwater discharge survey commenced in May 2016.
Owners of properties to be surveyed will receive a letter from the Council informing them that council-appointed contractors will be carrying out assessment works related to the survey shortly.
