Ōtaki Pool $5.4 million redevelopment takes shape
The Ōtaki Pool $5.4 million rebuild is expected to be complete by early December.
Parks and Recreation Manager Alison Law says that the pool’s upgrade is progressing well and is pleased to see the new roof completed.
“The new roof is an exciting milestone for Ōtaki Pool’s renovations and shows just how much it’s all taking shape. Next up is wall cladding, followed by the community-designed splash starting to take shape from October and the equipment installed in November. The landscaping will start sometime in October.”
The upgrade brings improved access with the addition of a ramp to the main pool, a more user-friendly reception and entrance, and fence removal between Haruati Park, the pool, and the new splash pad. The rebuild also includes separated filtration systems between the toddler and main pools, the installation of acoustic panelling to reduce noise, and an upgrade to the air handling system. The changing rooms will receive a minor upgrade.
While the pool is closed, Ōtaki residents can swim for free at the Coastlands Aquatic Centre in Paraparaumu and at Waikanae Pool from 8 November.
