Playground consultations this month
The Kāpiti Coast District Council's consultation on improvements for two Kāpiti neighbourhood playgrounds closes at the end of this month. The Pohutukawa Park and Matthews Park playgrounds are both scheduled for future upgrades. The Council is running two online surveys, and held drop-in sessions at the two parks last week.
“Our aim is to create safe spaces that are accessible, fun and diverse,” Parks and Recreation Manager, Alison Law says.
“We want to hear what the community would like to see available at these playgrounds as part of our ongoing playground upgrade programme.”
Upgrades are planned as equipment starts to come to the end of its safe and usable shelf-life.
"We had great turnouts out our playground drop-ins last week to talk about people's ideas for improvements, and got some great information about how people want to be able to play in their neighbourhood parks," Ms Law said.
Ms Law encourages people who couldn't attend to have their say online or fill in a paper form available at one of the playgrounds by 5pm Monday 30 April.
