Kāpiti Captured and Under Kāpiti Captured
Our new wharepaku block at Maclean Park is decorated with colourful and fun murals created by local artist Sarah Pou. "Kāpiti Captured" shows important places along the Kāpiti Coast, and "Under Kāpiti Captured" imagines the secret life under the sea.
Sarah created these two artworks to show her love of buildings and architecture, and celebrate her hometown. She wanted the murals to be fun and enjoyable for everyone.

Kāpiti Captured
The mural shows key buildings and landmarks of the Kapiti Coast district, from the sea. Find and identify these places from Ōtaki to Paekākāriki!
Under Kāpiti Captured
This mural is playful and imagines what could happen under the sea along the Kāpiti Coast, with fun twists like:
- orca police cars and dolphin police “offishers” at the underwater police station
- sharks watching Jaws 19 at the cinema
- a “school” library where young fish go for storytime.

You can even download copies of the murals to colour yourself!
