Boating
Many of us love to explore our beautiful coastline by getting out on the water. To make sure you return home safely, it’s important to follow the right safety tips. Coastguard Kāpiti is a great source for information for safe boating around the Kāpiti Coast.
Boat launching vehicle access
Vehicles can go on Kāpiti Coast beaches in designated boat launching areas to launch and retrieve boats. You check the map at Accessways and driving zones. For details about boating ramps and contact information, visit Greater Wellington's Kāpiti Coast launching ramps page.
All motorised boats and watercraft must use a designated boat launching area to launch or land. Other boats and watercraft can also launch and land in these areas, or in any beach area where driving is allowed.
Kāpiti Marine Reserve
If you're going fishing or diving, it's important to know the boundaries and rules of the Kāpiti Marine Reserve. Check out the Department of Conservation's useful Kāpiti Marine Reserve guide to stay up to date.
