Tilley Road Reserve
Tilley Road Reserve, located next to Queen Elizabeth Park, is a vibrant community space offering a variety of outdoor activities. It is especially popular for sports, particularly junior football, with the Paekākāriki Sports Club using the fields during the winter months.
Why it's special
The reserve not only provides a great spot for a casual game of football but also serves as a cultural hub for the local community. The entrance to the reserve is home to the Te Rau o Te Rangi weaving collective, where the traditional Māori art of harakeke (flax weaving) is practised, reflecting the cultural richness of the area.
