Marine Gardens
Marine Gardens is a destination playground on the Kāpiti Coast! This beachfront playground in Raumati Beach is home to beautiful trees and flower beds, and a wide range of play equipment including a flying fox!
The Marine Gardens splash pad is fun for all ages and a great way to enjoy the sunshine and the water.
There are a number of play areas and picnic tables in the sunshine and the shade. There are swings for all ages, a sandpit with a digger and a tunnel slide down a hill.
The miniature train on the bank above the playground features two tunnels and is a double-loop track just under 1km long. The train runs between 1pm–4pm on Sundays and is $1.50 a trip.
There are toilets on the Matatua Road side of the park or you can follow the path around to the beachside and you'll find toilets next to the entrance of the old Raumati Pool.
Parking is along Garden Road, the beach-side car park, or in the Raumati Beach shopping village.

Communication boards
To help everyone be part of the conversation, this playground has communication boards in both English and Māori. They are a form of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) that non-speaking people use to communicate. We have designed these boards to support non-speaking tamariki and whānau in their play.

Our boards were developed in partnership with TalkLink Trust, our Disability Advisory Group, with input from a speech language therapist and parents of non-verbal children. For more information on developing a core board for your group or organisation, contact TalkLink Trust.
