Road stopping
Road stopping is the process of changing the designation of the land from unformed legal road to "fee simple" land so it can be sold. We may sell road reserve to a property owner when the land is not needed for utilities, roads, or footpaths.
We individually assess each application to buy an area of unformed legal road, and the whole process can take up to three years. Survey, valuation, and legal costs can add thousands to the cost of the purchase.
Current road stopping plans
