Clean fill
There are few cleanfill disposal sites operating in Kāpiti. The old Otaihanga Landfill is not a cleanfill dump site, however some clean soils can be accepted for using during remediation activities onsite via the Otaihanga transfer station.
Otaihanga transfer station only accepts trailer loads and small tipping trucks with a combined gross weight on the weighbridge of less than 6.0 tonnes (GCM under 6000kg) of clean fill materials (virgin excavated natural materials) that meets the soils criteria outlined in acceptable materials below. Concrete, tiles, rock etc are classified as Hardfill and is charged separately at the transfer station under similar weight limits and is transported to other disposal facilities.
Goodrock Recycling Ltd in Waikanae also accept some types of concrete and cleanfill. Please contact them for details and pricing.
